Gloons

Year:

Fall 2022

I had the fun opportunity to help work on PoggleWash, a DigiPen senior student game team, called themselves Lavendeer, which made a third-person platformer called PoggleWash!  I was brought onto the team and tasked with making Unreal Niagara particle systems for flying and swimming creatures.

I had concept these creatures quickly then model then texture them and then make a Unreal material. In the unreal materials I mainly used the sine node to give them the illusion of moving. They are mostly seen farther away from the character and act as background props. I really wanted to add them to the user's experience to make this world come to life!

The reason why the Gloons are specifically white and no intricate patterns are that they will be hidden by the water material.  In the game, these creatures are mostly seen under the waves so their silhouettes have to be very distinct.

The game is scheduled to be released on Steam!
